Blood Window, the Latin market for fantastic cinema, organized by INCAA since 2013 and among the Ventana Sur schedule, announced the launching of Blood Window TV (BWTV), an online platform focused on Latin genre-driven film.
For the launching, the Argentinean institute partnered up with the Mexicans Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de la Universidad de Monterrey, the secretary of science, innovation and technology from the state of Jalisco and the production company Sofía Films.
“The project was born in the last edition of Ventana Sur and we are currently focused on increasing the titles offered by the platform”, said Daniel de la Vega, CEO of Sofía Films and one of the founders of BWTV.
Besides promoting genre movies throughout the continent, BWTV looks forward to supporting the post-production of films and the coproduction around the region. It’s also planned to promote new Latin American talents through a competition with projects under development.
Cannes also hosted the launching of the Ibero-american movie platform Pantalla CACI. Offering a selected list of films from Latin America, Spain and Portugal, the platform is driven to the Educational and Cultural Institutes of Latin America. The initiative was made possible thanks to the Ibero-american Cinematography Entities Conference (CACI) and the support of the Motion Picture Institute of Mexico, though the Plataforma Cinema México.
The films on Pantalla CACI are a combination of two of CACI’s most successful programs: Ibermedia Digital and DOCTV Latinoamerica. The platform will be available in June 2015. Educational and cultural entities with previous registration will have access.
